Jealousy tackles one of the most basic human emotions there is. I liked this book more than I expected. It covered all kinds of jealousy from fraternal to romantic to evolutional — that’s right, it talked about the scientific aspect of the emotion as well.
There were a lot of areas in the book where I felt almost called out, but it also allowed me to see the emotion from a distance. I’ll argue that this book made me handle the emotion better — mainly because it allowed me to recognize the feeling, which was not always the case before. There are traits that might be mistaken for something else — competitiveness, drive, and meticulousness — before that might be jealousy.
As the book mentioned, there’s no controlling this strong emotion. However, recognizing and looking at it with a more holistic approach might do the trick into using the emotion to better the person.
