The Bleakly Manor

This has got to be one of my favorite feel good stories ever. I finished this in a little more than a day. It has a love story, goth theme, moral lessons, mystery, murder, everything I love about the gothic novels and more. Also, it’s been a while since I liked a love story. This was mature, realistic, but also romantic, kind of love story.

I liked the character of Clara. Beautiful, principled, kind-hearted, but assertive and strong. She had no shame of wanting someone to hold her. I love her. I also loved all of the characters, even the “bad” ones. They were so comical, yet real. I loved the Dickensian aspect of it, and it leaves you wondering if Dickens will go that far for the characters of his novels.
